Program Offering
Select Physical Therapy is pleased to offer...
The Graston® Technique
The Graston Technique® is the use of specially designed stainless steel instruments to assist in detecting and treating areas exhibiting scar tissue, soft tissue restriction, adhesions or chronic inflammation. Therapists use the instruments which vary in shapes and sizes to comb over and isolate dysfunctional tissue. Once the tissue has been identified, the instruments are used by skilled and trained therapists to break up adhesions, soft tissue restrictions and/or scar tissue. The Technique can reduce pain and increase range of motion. It can also:
Improve diagnostic treatment
Increase patient satisfaction by achieving notably better outcomes
Speed rehabilitation and recovery
Allow the patient to continue to engage in everyday activities
The Benefits:
Much like a tuning fork it assists the therapist in identifying areas of scar tissue/fibrosis
The therapist uses the tools to break down scar tissue while applying even pressure
The Graston approach and proprietary tools are often more effective and less painful than traditional methods of soft tissue treatment
Increases patient satisfaction through achieving notably better outcomes
Can foster quicker rehabilitation/recovery
Can assist in resolving chronic conditions
For more information on the Graston® Technique and how Select Physical Therapy’s therapists are utilizing it during individualized treatment programs, please contact one of our physical therapy centers closest to you.
