Celebrate National Athletic Training Month with Select Physical Therapy!

National Athletic Training Month is held every March in order to spread awareness about all that athletic trainers do: provide vital health care services for life and sport. The National Athletic Trainers’ Association’s theme for 2018 is “Compassionate Care for All.”

Athletic trainers play an integral role in the physical rehabilitative process on the playing field and within the workforce. We count on our athletic trainers to be on the frontlines in prevention, treatment and ongoing management of care for our customers.

Athletic trainers specialize in the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes of all levels. They play a vital role in enhancing performance through strength and conditioning programs, ergonomics, proper nutrition plans, emergency care and education in-services.

“Within Select Medical’s Outpatient Division, we employ more than 800 athletic trainers who work in diverse settings. Our athletic trainers cover sports at the club, high school, university and professional level. They also work in occupational settings as part of our WorkStrategies® Program. We even have athletic trainers who serve in a business development capacity!

“Our folks are expert at not only assessing and rehabilitating injuries, but they are also versed in creating programs that improve performance and reduce the potential for injury. Please join me in celebrating our athletic trainers during National Athletic Training Month and throughout the year!” - Michael E. Collins, P.T., ATC, MBA, Vice President of Sports Medicine

In celebration of National Athletic Training Month, Select Physical Therapy is spotlighting our all-star team of athletic trainers throughout the month on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms. Don’t forget to “Like” us and “Follow” us!
