    Select Physical Therapy offers a wide range of orthopaedic services, dedicated to treating patients of varying age groups and activity levels:

    Orthopaedics: Whether you've sustained a mild strain or had a major surgical procedure, our physical therapists will work with you in a goal-oriented program to regain maximal pain free function.

    Sports Medicine: We provide sport rehabilitation services for multiple local high schools and universities, both onsite and in our center. The goal of our physical therapists and athletic trainers is to return injured athletes to their optimal performance level in whichever sport they participate.

    Industrial: We are focused on returning injured workers back to their place of employment in a timely and safe manner. We will provide highly focused functional rehabilitation programs that ensure ideal return-to-work status. We also provide screening procedures designed to ensure safety in the workplace.

    Sean Shields, P.T., DPT, OCS
    Sean Shields
    Sean has been involved with orthopaedic research and rehabilitative medicine since 2007. He joined the Auburn team in 2012 and manages the Select Physical Therapy center in Auburn and Farmington with a focus on providing quick access for a variety of patient conditions. Sean sat for and passed the orthopaedic specialist exam in 2017. He has developed a passion for movement assessment in sport and daily function. He is trained in Functional Capacity Evaluations, golf analysis through Titleist Performance Institute and running and sport analysis. Sean enjoys struggling at golf, fishing, volleyball, basketball and skiing.
    Abbey Karns, P.T., DPT
    Abbey Karns
    After graduation from the University of New England, Abbey became invested in philanthropic work by organizing and executing balance and strength screenings for the central and southern Maine communities. Abbey became LSVT BIG certified in 2017 to provide a research based program to improve symptoms for patients with Parkinson’s disease. She has a passion for improving balance in the geriatric community to decrease fall-related injuries and improve quality of life. She has a strong interested in orthopaedic and neurological conditions and fall prevention.
    Brent Underkoffler, P.T., DPT
    Brent Underkoffler
    Brent has four years of orthopaedic outpatient experience as a clinician in his home state of Massachusetts. He has a special interest toward sport rehabilitation and treating musculoskeletal conditions. He developed an interest in physical therapy at a young age from injuries that sidelined him for participating in sports. Brent enjoys working with his patients and returning them to their desired activities after a restriction. Brent can be found trail running, mountain biking, cycling or skiing around the Northeast when not in the center.
    Morgan Wilson, P.T., DPT
    Morgan Wilson
    While in the graduate program at the University of New England, Morgan participated in research focused on body mechanics of collegiate softball athletes during the softball swing. At Select Physical Therapy, Morgan has specialized in treating running-related injuries through examination and assessment of running gait mechanics. She also works onsite at Lewiston High school to provide immediate access to athletes. Morgan enjoys hiking, snowboarding, reading, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
    Laura Roach, P.T., DPT
    Laura Roach
    Laura is the clinical coordinator for clinical education. She works with schools throughout the country for physical therapy student placements for both Select Physical Therapy and Saco Bay centers in Maine. Laura is an American Physical Therapy Association certified clinical instructor. In 2017, she received the Distinguished Clinical Educator award from the University of New England. Laura is certified in dry needling, Functional Capacity Evaluations and the ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program.
    Sandra Nadeau, PTA
    Sandra Nadeau
    Sandy is a physical therapist assistant for Select Physical Therapy in Auburn. Sandy has been a Select Physical Therapy team member for 28 years and has experience in treating various orthopaedic conditions, sport injuries and neurologic disorders and conditions. Sandy specializes in restoring function to individuals of all ages after injury, trauma, surgery to joints or of the spine and balance disorders.
