Our Team

Dyllan Frahm, DPT

Dyllan earned a doctorate of physical therapy in 2017 from Des Moines University and bachelor’s degree in biology at University of Northern Iowa. Dyllan has been working at Select Physical Therapy, Unity Point Marshalltown since 2017 and is now the center director. He enjoys working with a variety of patients with a special interest in general orthopedics, vestibular pathology, concussion and stroke.

Katelyn Raska, DPT

Katelyn has been with Select since September 2017. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science in 2014 from Central College and doctorate of physical therapy in 2017 from Des Moines University. Katelyn spends the majority of her day at UPH-Marshalltown working with inpatients. While in the center, she specializes in aquatics, orthopedics and amputee rehabilitation.

Ben Wagar, DPT

Ben earned a doctorate of physical therapy in May 2020 from George Fox University and bachelor's in kinesiology in 2016 from Iowa State University. Ben is passionate about health and wellness and motivated to help each individual reach their personal goals and live their life to the fullest potential. He was born and raised in Marshalltown and is excited to start his career working in our Marshalltown and Toledo centers serving members of our community.

Heather Moore, DPT

Heather started at Select in June 2019. She earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in 2016 from Iowa State University and doctorate in physical therapy in 2019 from Des Moines University. Heather enjoys working with the pediatric population.

Heather Willett , DPT, ATC

Heather started at Select Physical Therapy in June 2019. She earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Dakota Wesleyan University and doctorate of physical therapy from Des Moines University. Heather enjoys working with the athletic population and goes to Marshalltown Community College to treat athletes.

Hannah Merfeld, M.A., CF-SLP

Hannah earned a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders in 2018 from the University of Northern Iowa and master's degree in speech-language pathology in 2020 from the University of Northern Iowa. Hannah enjoys working with clientele of all ages in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Emily Hart, M.A., CF-SLP

Emily began working at Select in June 2020 after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a master's degree in speech-language pathology. She has grown up working with children and her love for the pediatric population has only increased. She loves watching a child's confidence increase after developing their communication skills.

Cobey Brau, MOT, OTR/L

Cobey started with Select Physical Therapy in March 2020. She attended James Madison University for both her undergraduate and graduate studies. Cobey works with our pediatric population, addressing sensory and other developmental concerns.

Marcelle Mantilla, PTA

Marcelle earned an associate's degree as a physical therapist assistant from Keiser University. Marcelle oversees our aquatic program, and enjoys working with athletes and concussion and vestibular patients.

Connie K. Kelly, PTA

Connie has been with Select since May 2016. She earned an associate's degree as a physical therapist assistant in 1986 from St. Mary's and bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Ambrose University. She has certifications in health and wellness. She has treating expertise in orthopedics and general medical and health and wellness-related issues.

Nicole Blank, PTA

Nicole started with Select Physical Therapy in August 2019. She attended Iowa State University for her undergraduate degree and Mercy College of Health Sciences for the physical therapy assistant program. She enjoys working with younger patients, especially athletes who are returning to play, as well as patients who have received total joint replacements.

Melissa McDonald, COTA

Melissa joined the Select team in January 2019. She earned an associate's degree as an occupational therapy assistant from Kirkwood and has practiced as a certified occupational therapy assistant for the past 10 years. She is experienced in a variety of settings and with a multitude of diagnoses. Melissa works at both Select's Marshalltown and Toledo centers, where she works with patients varying from pediatrics to geriatrics. Melissa is also a workers' compensation liaison.

Michael Jones, M.S., LAT, ATC

Mike earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2011 from Coe College and master's degree in occupational safety and health in 2013 at Waldorf College. Mike is the head athletic trainer for Marshalltown Community College.

Golf Program

January 21, 2021
Select Physical Therapy in Norwalk is proud to offer a Functional Golf Program. Our physical therapist, Brad Earp, DPT, ATC, CSCS, is a certified golf specialist through the Gray Institute. This program is designed for golfers to improve their swing, power and improve their overall game. This program is great for beginners, experienced golfers or anyone having aches and pains while golfing. Please call 515-985-5577 if you are interested in learning more. 

Recovery and Reconditioning

Select Physical Therapy is now offering Recovery and Reconditioning for those recovering from the COVID-19 virus.

Many individuals are also compromised by a variety of acute and chronic conditions, such as emphysema, after effects of the flu and cardiovascular disease. As you or your loved ones recover from COVID-19 or other debilitating illnesses and conditions, you may be left with varying levels of deconditioning and weakness. 

We understand this is a scary and challenging time. Our compassionate team of clinical experts can help you continue to heal through our Recovery and Reconditioning Program.  

Inaugural Strive for Excellence Winner

Select Physical Therapy - Iowa City would like to congratulate Helen Adams. Helen is the winner of February's Strive for Excellence contest in Iowa City.  She was able to achieve our top score as measured by Strive home exercise program by demonstrating the highest commitment to her health and personal goals. Manual Therapy

Running Injury Prevention Clinic

April 22, 2021

Iowa City clinicians had a great morning partnering with Heartland Sole and Top Shape Gym to work with area runners on injury prevention and performance improvement. Participants learned new ways to involve warm-up, strength training and running form to meet their goals for the upcoming outdoor season.

Iowa City Sponsoring Hawkeye Turkey Trot

Select Physical Therapy of Iowa City is proud to sponsor the Hawkeye Turkey Trot with Heartland Soles. Join us for this inaugural event at City Park on November 25. In addition to a Tot Trot and a 5K run, there will be a food drive benefiting the Iowa Food Bank. Please bring some canned goods for this great organization. If you are unable to join us but would like to contribute a food donation, please drop off your donation at our Iowa City center.
