Success Stories

Ray Craighead

Ray Craighead was returning from a two-day, 170-mile bike tour, when a van driving 55 mph hit him. He was rushed to a local trauma center with a long road of recovery ahead. Ray had brain surgery and began having recurrent falls, so his care team suggested physical therapy. When Ray came to us, he could not get around his home without assistance. He also was struggling with neurodegenerative dementia, a new diagnosis. Ray had always enjoyed drawing. When he came to us, he knew his skill levels would never be the same. But he wanted to regain some sense of normalcy. Working with our team, Ray is drawing again. While he still has a way to go with his physical therapy journey, we are happy that he's on a new path of healing.

Mason Shubkagel

Mason Shubkagel is a lacrosse and swim athlete who suffered from knee injuries. Patella instability and a recent meniscal surgery brought him to Select Physical Therapy. Initially, Mason was annoyed with the process. But physical therapist Julie O'Connor challenged and engaged Mason in a way that made the experience more enjoyable. Julie created a personalized, post-operative plan that helped Mason to achieve his goals of driving, walking normally and getting back to full activity with lacrosse and swimming. "Julie has been really great to work with," Mason said. "She pushes me and is fun. Today is my last appointment and I am testing to return to full-contact sport participation." We are excited to hear you had a positive experience, Mason, and cannot wait to see you back on the field and in the pool! Thank you for choosing us on your rehabilitation journey.
