Our Team

Aleeza Kassam-Efthemis, P.T., DPT, OCS

Aleeza, a proud Canadian, graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Canada in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in health sciences. She then received a doctorate of physical therapy degree from D'Youville College in 2012. Before settling down in San Diego, Aleeza enhanced her education by attending an orthopedic residency program and received orthopedic clinical specialist certification. She practices using a combination of manual therapy, movement science and pain science techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes. Aleeza has a passion for treating athletes having gone through two sports injuries herself, as well as TMJ conditions and complex shoulder injuries. She hopes to provide each patient with an exceptional physical therapy experience.

Megan Sarmiento, P.T., DPT

Meagan grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. She completed a bachelor's degree at Norfolk State University prior to earning a doctorate of physical therapy from Old Dominion University. Meagan is dedicated to helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals in order to improve overall function and quality of life. Meagan is passionate about the treatment of pelvic floor-related dysfunctions. She enjoys country swing dancing, bowling and spending time with friends and family.

Klaus Schmidt, M.S., OTR/L, CHT

Klaus earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Oklahoma State University in 2013 and master's degree in occupational therapy from Bay Path University in 2017. After graduation he moved to the Bay Area in northern California where he gained experience working in the outpatient and home health settings. He moved to San Diego and earned certification in hand therapy in 2021. Klaus enjoys creating individualized treatment plans to assist each patient in maximizing their potential to restore function for activities of daily living or work-related tasks. Klaus enjoys traveling abroad, photography, reading, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and staying fit.

Matthew Allen, P.T., DPT

Matthew grew up in Santa Maria, CA. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California Santa Barbara prior to earning a doctorate of physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Matthew is passionate about helping patients with a variety of different orthopedic conditions and ensuring they reach their therapeutic goals, gain independence and get back to doing the activities they love. He enjoys golfing, working out, playing basketball and spending time with friends and family.

Burton Sadler, PTA

Burton grew up in the Bay Area and went to the University of Oregon before graduating from Mesa College with a degree as a physical therapist assistant. Prior to his career as a PTA, Burton was a personal trainer and group fitness instructor and enjoys helping people regain confidence in their bodies and to achieve their therapeutic goals. In his free time Burton likes to surf, work out and play volleyball. He is of Greek heritage and also makes some mean spanakopita.

Jessica Rosenau, P.T., DPT

Jessica grew up in Kennett Square, Pennyslvania, and completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Penn State. Upon graduation, she gained experience in the healthcare industry as a project manager for a health care software company before transitioning to a physical therapy program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Jessica is passionate about interacting and learning from individuals in the community as well as guiding patients on their journey to improve overall function. In her free time, Jessica enjoys dancing, hiking, reading and playing with her Yorkie.
