Our Team

Brandon Irons, P.T., MPT, OCS, COMT

Brandon is the center manager at our Select Sports Center of Excellence. He has been a physical therapist in San Diego since 2010 after a brief stint in Houston. He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology, pre-physical therapy from San Diego State University and his master's degree in physical therapy from California State University, Northridge. He is a residency-trained, board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy and a certified orthopedic manual therapist. Brandon is also orthopedic residency faculty and COMT faculty. His entire practice has been in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. He has successfully worked to rehabilitate clients with all levels of injuries, from children to older adults, including professional athletes. He works relentlessly to return patients to their highest level of function. Brandon possesses advanced clinical evaluation, assessment and manual therapeutic treatment techniques acquired through his rigorous educational and examination processes to pursue the best treatment.

Leroy Velasco, P.T., DPT

Leroy is a San Diego native. Leroy graduated from the University of California, Riverside, with a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and from the University of St. Augustine in San Marcos, California, where he received a doctorate in physical therapy in 2017. Leroy began working at a private outpatient center in Los Angeles treating a variety of orthopedic conditions for four years. He has since returned to San Diego and is excited to serve his hometown and the surrounding community.

Nicole Klein, P.T., DPT

Nikki is a passionate physical therapist and our current orthopedic resident for the San Diego market. She embraces the vibrant lifestyle the city offers with a love for hiking, camping, sports and all things outdoors. Nikki brings an active and energetic approach to her practice and places tremendous value on building a strong therapeutic alliance with her patients. She is dedicated to helping her patients regain strength, mobility and confidence to enjoy the activities they love. She combines her orthopedic expertise with a personalized and compassionate approach to support her patients' journey toward optimal health and wellness. She will sit for her orthopedic clinical specialist certification in March 2026.

Heather Nitschke, P.T., DPT, CPT

Heather is originally from Great Falls Montana. She received a degree in Spanish from University of North Dakota, then joined the United States Marine Corps, served a combat tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After her military service, she obtained her physical therapist assistant certification from Montana State University. In 2012 she moved to San Diego and began her physical therapy career at the San Diego VA. Years later she returned to school and graduated with her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Findlay, Ohio, in 2022. Heather joined Select Physical Therapy in 2024. She has a passion for health and fitness. In her off time, she loves to participate in obstacle course races, mud runs, triathlons and hiking. She loves animals, reading and good coffee. She's currently working on her sports and conditioning certification and a certification of orthopedic manual therapy.
