Our Team

Michael Miller, MSPT, OCS

Michael has been employed with Select Physical Therapy since 2001 and has had many roles across his tenure including rehabilitation tech, staff physical therapist and center manager. Michael serves as the regional director of operations in the eastern part of the state and enjoys treating patients out of the Vernon location. Michael graduated as the president of his class in 2003 from the University of Connecticut where he achieved a master's degree in physical therapy. Michael achieved orthopedic certified specialist certification in 2013 and his clinical interests include treating post-op patients, spine injuries and student-athletes. Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

Leif Aronsen, DPT

Leif joined the Select Physical Therapy Vernon family in May of 2024 after receiving his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Hartford. Growing up in New Haven, Conn., Leif currently resides in Vernon. Leif grew up playing sports and remains active playing basketball and golf. Leif enjoys treating all different injuries and is passionate about achieving the highest results through evidence-based practice. Leif takes special interest in treating shoulder and spine injuries using a variety of manual techniques and creative exercise progression to achieve the best results for his patients. In his spare time Leif enjoys spending time with family and friends including his girlfriend, Sydney, and his dog, Dale Murphy!

Success Stories

Thomas and Matt Bannon

Meet the Bannon brothers, Thomas and Matthew, javelin throwers at Rockville High School. During this track season, both suffered injuries that derailed their progress. The brothers worked with Physical Therapist Mike Miller to ensure they could return to competition before the season concluded. For Thomas' sprained UCL, the therapy included range-of-motion exercises, strengthening of the elbow muscles and techniques to reduce inflammation and promote healing. Matthew's rehabilitation focused on his injured back, incorporating core stabilization exercises, stretching flexibility, and strengthening routines for the back and surrounding muscles. With hard work, the Bannon brothers competed in the Class MM State Championship meet, with Thomas taking first and Matthew second while earning them spots in the New England and National competitions. They hope to continue throwing the javelin in college. Congratulations to Thomas and Matthew Bannon on their remarkable achievements and dedication. We look forward to seeing what you accomplish next.
