Our Team

Brian Sommer, P.T.

Brian joined Select Physical Therapy in 2005, and has since enjoyed the opportunity to work with a wide variety of orthopedic patients. He has extensive training in the WorkStrategies program, including work conditioning, functional capacity evaluations and post-offer employment testing. He also has a passion for manual therapy, earning his manual therapy certification in 2014 through the Ola Grimsby Institute. Brian is board certified in orthopedics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is the market manager for Central Florida, including the Conway, Winter Park, Oviedo, Turkey Lake, Apopka, Alafaya and Lake Nona locations.

Brian enjoys traveling, running, camping and is active in his son's Scouting pack.

Margo Pilato, P.T.

A native central Floridian, Margo has more than 30 years of experience working with a wide variety of outpatient patients, including treatment of conditions like orthotic management, back pain, knee and shoulder injuries and surgeries. Margo has extensive experience treating every patient age range, from adolescent to geriatric, including those with backgrounds from the industrial worker to the professional athlete.

Karen Jimenez, OT/L

Karen is an occupational therapy graduate from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She has more than 30 years of experience in hand therapy and upper extremity orthopedics. She is experienced in treating shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries including fractures, repetitive strain injuries, nerve compressions including carpal tunnel syndrome, as well as rehabilitation after surgery. She is passionate about hand therapy, and is also able to fabricate custom splints and orthoses for multiple problems including finger fractures, strains and sprains, tendon lacerations post -surgical care and arthritis. She is bilingual in English/Spanish. Karen is a certified kinesiotape practitioner and a certified manual therapist for upper extremity. In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and traveling.

Hand Therapy

Our certified hand therapists (CHT) provide comprehensive and industry-leading treatment for hand, wrist, arm, elbow and shoulder injuries or conditions. Our team will work with you to create an individualized program to return you to work, life and athletics as soon as possible.

When you need dedicated, sports-specific care, look to our Select Sports Centers of Excellence (COE). Our COE designation conveys the highest quality in sports medicine delivery. It's an endorsement of expertise in sports as a clinical practice.

LSVT BIG Program

LSVT BIG has been shown to improve ratings on tests of motor functioning in people with Parkinson's disease following treatment. Physical gains include:
