All Services Success Stories

Jacob Warczakoski

Jacob Warczakoski suffered crush injuries to his legs when 5,000 pounds of steel fell off a semi-trailer. This injury put a stop to his work and hobbies, fishing and hunting.

When Jacob first started physical therapy, he didn't feel great. He couldn't use his foot due to the crushed ligaments, and he had no feeling in his lower left leg. With each session, he reached a new peak in his healing journey. However, the biggest moment that stands out to Jacob is moving his ankle for the first time after his injury.

Jacob found us at the recommendation of his workers' compensation specialist. She knew it would be a good fit for him and his journey to return to work.

With the assistance of the team, Jacob has returned to work building trucks, can walk normally for hunting season and has been able to go fishing again.

Erick Hill

Recently, Erick Hill underwent surgery to remove sarcoma from his thigh. As a result of surgery, he had to start using a walker and was no longer as agile as he once was. Working closely with ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Scott Kramer who developed a specialized treatment plan for Erick. "He's been great for not just the workout and therapy," said Erick, "but also my motivation."'

Erick has started to plow through his goals. He no longer needs his walker and can jog. His goal is to run again and feel confident in his strength.

"Confidence in getting back after a life-changing experience is hard and that's a big part of physical therapy," said Erick. "If you don't have a therapist to motivate you, it doesn't work the same." We are happy to support your journey towards your goals, Erick! Thank you for choosing us for your care.

Tamara Brown and Larry Martel

Tamara Brown needed a total knee revision two and a half years ago and worked with Physical Therapist Abby Fitzgerald. She returned for occupational therapy for her hands and shoulders and, most recently, came back to Abby after another knee revision.

During treatment, Tamara explained that her partner, Larry Martel, had been diagnosed with a brain tumor and had lost function in his arm. Abby suggested Larry come see Scott Kramer, a ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation certified physical therapist. Scott and Abby worked with the couples' schedules so they could attend therapy together.

After nine weeks of "couples therapy," Tamara and Larry are excited to return to the things they enjoy, like attending concerts, participating in water aerobics and tending to their garden.

"The clinic has a community atmosphere, you don't just feel like a person in line," Tamara said. "They all engage in conversation and have a very caring environment."

Lori Schwichtenberg

Lori Schwichtenberg is a fighter. Her breast cancer metastasized to her bone and she needed a rod surgically placed in her left femur. After some in-home therapy, she came to Select Physical Therapy for care. ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Physical Therapist Scott Kramer created a custom program to get Lori moving without crutches again.

"I am still active in treatments," she said at the time. "Scott is so great at tailoring our frequency of visits to what works for me."

While working on strengthening and mobility, Scott used different exercises to challenge Lori each session and boost her confidence. She worked hard to return to hiking, camping and walking her dogs without assistance.

"He pushed me to feel confident in walking unassisted and really helped me to get where I am now," she said. "Just this week, I was able to walk my two Aussie dogs solo."

Edward Gunter

Edward Gunter is a high school teacher. After almost 50 years without breaking a bone, Edward broke his ulna and radius on his dominant left hand and was concerned with his ability to do his job.

Post-surgery, his doctor referred him to our center where Edward worked with Certified Hand Therapist Barbara Lewis.

"Barbara is a special jewel in a practice full of jewels," Edward shared.

Edward is back to teaching with full strength in his hand. "The individuals in this facility were professional, empathetic and supportive from the minute I arrived until my last session."

Oscar Fitzgerald

Oscar is an active, energetic 9-year-old. A sledding adventure took an unexpected turn pinning his hand under the sled, hit a rock, fracturing his thumb. Urgent care provided a basic splint, but Oscar needed something to allow him to continue one of his favorite hobbies: swimming. Certified Hand Therapist Barbara Lewis came to the rescue, crafting a custom waterproof splint. Barbara ensured Oscar could dive back into swimming and stay active despite the setback.

"Barbara is great when working with patients of all ages and all walks of life. She was gentle, patient and kind when taking care of Oscar's splint. Barbara did a great job explaining to him what was going to happen and why she was doing each step, so he understood and was not scared. We really appreciate her expertise and kindness," Oscar's mother shared.

Thank you for trusting us with your custom splinting needs, Oscar!
