Francis DeVita
From bed to wheelchair to walker to cane. Each step brought signs of progress.
Francis DeVita lost 60 pounds while bedridden. Diagnosed with multiple myeloma, he had been lying down for over a year. For a former law enforcement officer who travels, cycles and walks his dogs, the fallout was devastating. He was, however, highly motivated to get better and back to all the things he loves doing.
Fortunately, he was referred to the talented Select Physical Therapy team at Pearland, which helped Francis get moving by working on his strength, balance and gait. He also worked on a technique for sitting-to-standing, which became easier with each visit.
Francis continues to make strides in his rehabilitation program and is well on his way to getting back to his favorite activities.
