Success Stories

Oakel Hardy

Oakel Hardy plays guitar and uses a computer daily, but a Dupuytren's contracture affected his small and ring fingers. Increasing pain and limited use of his left hand was impacting his daily life. After surgical intervention, the physician referred Oakel to occupational therapy. Oakel began working with Sandra Rayburn, occupational therapist who was able to devise a treatment plan to address Oakel's concerns and goals. Initially, he had a prominent scar, limited range of motion and decreased strength. As his therapy sessions ended, he had full range of motion, strength within normal limits and a barely noticeable scar. Due to his hard work and determination throughout the therapy process, Oakel is able to use the computer and returned to playing guitar. Great job, Oakel. We are glad to hear you are back to doing the things you enjoy. Thank you for choosing us to be part of your rehabilitation journey.
